A LIFE OF SERVICE. A COMMITMENT TO BROOKLYN.

I’ve spent my life serving others. For nearly 24 years, I served our country in the United States Navy Reserve, including a deployment to Afghanistan. And when COVID hit New York, I answered the call again, serving on the front lines of our state’s emergency response.

My name is Lester Chang, and that same commitment to service is why I ran for State Assembly. I ran because our community needed someone who would fight for us in Albany, but also be there for us right here at home. Since you elected me, that’s exactly what we’ve been doing.

We’ve helped more than 10,000 constituents cut through government red tape, from housing and benefits to sanitation, DMV issues, and small business assistance. But serving the community means more than what happens inside a government office.

We’ve given away thousands of backpacks and school supplies to local children. We’ve organized neighborhood cleanups, supported food pantries, helped our seniors and veterans, and brought government services directly into our neighborhoods.

And in Albany, I’ve fought for safer streets, better schools, more affordable communities, and a better quality of life for the people I represent.  

Because whether it’s passing legislation in Albany or handing out backpacks in Brooklyn, public service is about showing up. 

That’s why I’m running for re-election. To keep fighting for you in Albany. To keep showing up here at home. And to keep delivering for our community.
